Maui Calls is a Maui-based trio formed by Slack Key player Kalani Smythe, Steel guitarist Fern ando Perez and Hula dancer Wainani Kealoha, with the goal of helping to perpetuate traditional Hawaiian music. Performing in the most unique Hawaiian styles of Ki Ho'alu (Slack-Key),Kika Kila (Steel Guitar) and Hula, the atmosphere during their shows is based on the old way- cozy, backyard, "talk-story" style with everyone's participation. You will be presented with a relaxing and genuine Hawaiian musical experience full of history and anecdotes about how Ki Ho'alu, Kika Kila and Hula came to be.
