Rajasthan Roots is a collective to promote the performing arts of Rajasthan (India) by bringing folk to a multicultural platform.
By dissolving boundaries the different artists are given the freedom to express him/herself as well as opportunities to experiment with artists of other cultures.All their compositions are reflective of Rajasthan folk, using traditional instruments such as the Khamaicha, Nagara, Morchang, Khurtal and Algoza.
Rajasthan Roots is also supported by Jaipur Virasat Heritage Foundation (JVF), an NGO in Jaipur (India) that researches and promotes the rural folk arts of Rajasthan to create new opportunities for live-hood. In the last years JVF has interacted with more than two thousand folk artists, showcasing the best talents in the Jaipur heritage International Festival and the Jodhpur Rajasthan International Festival.
In collaboration with Rajasthan Roots, turkish singer Berza Simsek and with the support of JVF, Fernando Perez participated in a very special workshop-showcase fusioning rajasthani as well as flamenco and turkish music.
