Resophonic Guitar
The Resophonic Guitar is an instrument that was created with the goal of having a louder guitar to be heard over brass instruments.
The Dopyera brothers were responsible for this beautiful creation developed further throughout the years. At the beginning was simply the idea of building a metal cone inside the body of the guitar; the inspiration came from the horn of the old gramophones that was used to amplify the sound. Later came the idea of building the whole guitar body out of steel or brass .

All this happen in the first decades of 1900, soon came the world war and all factories that were dealing with metal have to stop productions in order to build... weapons... (too bad!), so the whole Resophonic Guitar production was put on hold.

Unfortunately by the time everything came back to normality the electric guitar was discovered leaving the Resophonic Guitar behind.

Years passed by and only a few musicians from Blues, Country and Hawaiian music paid attention to this instrument, keeping it alive but narrowing its use to this three styles until the present times.

Nowadays more people find out about Resophonic Guitars although few musicians take the challenge to find new horizons for this instrument. The Resophonic Guitar has one of the largest dynamic range among acoustic instruments as well as tones and textures that can not be achieved with any other. The instrument Fernando uses is a National Tricone, it has a very balance sound comparing to single cones that sound punchier.
